Jon Horner is a PGA Professional and at CordeValle Golf Club in San Martin, California. He has been recognized by Golf Digest as a Best Young Instructor and Best in State Instructor from 2017–2027, and was named PGA Monterey Chapter Teacher of the Year in 2019.

 

His approach combines technical instruction, player development, and a strong understanding of the complete golfer—helping players of all levels become more confident, consistent, and effective on the course.

Jon began his career working alongside renowned instructor Jim McLean, assisting with more than 200 lessons and working with top touring professionals including Lexi Thompson, Keegan Bradley, Greg Norman, Lucy Li, and Erik Compton. He later became Operations Manager and Golf Instructor at the Jim McLean Golf School, where he led a team of instructors, taught more than 35 hours per week, and directed corporate, group, and junior golf programs.

From 2013 to 2020, Jon served as Director of Instruction at CordeValle Golf Club, where he developed a comprehensive Holistic Approach to player development combining instruction, club fitting, physical training, junior development, and women’s golf instruction. During his tenure, private lesson revenue increased by 477%, junior golf camp revenue and participation increased by 466%, and corporate clinic revenue increased by 392%. He also developed specialized clinics in driving, putting, and wedge play and created a teacher-training curriculum for the CordeValle professional staff.

Today, Jon brings his extensive teaching experience to CordeValle. Specializing in college and tour professional development. His approach combines technical instruction, player development, and a strong understanding of the complete golfer—helping players of all levels become more confident, consistent, and effective on the course

Jon earned his Bachelor of Science in Recreation and Sport Management from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, with a concentration in Professional Golf Management. Graduating first in his class Jon was elected to PGA Membership in 2009.
